On July 11, Bitcoin breached the $118,000 mark. This growth occurred amid active buying by long-term investors. According to CryptoQuant, the balance of "accumulators" reached an annual maximum of 248,000 BTC.

The figure has increased by 71% since June 22.

Such strong demand was last seen on December 20, 2025. At that time, Bitcoin traded at $97,000, and the number of coins held at holders' addresses reached a record 278,000 BTC.

Demand is recovering from a dip in the fourth quarter of 2024. Although net interest remains negative, it is growing rapidly, indicating that buyers are strengthening their positions.

Analyst Axel Adler Jr. believes that the first point for profit-taking will come at a price of $130,900.

The MVRV ratio must reach 2.75 to begin distribution. The expert compared the market capitalization to the realized capitalization.

Glassnode noted a $4.4 billion increase in realized capitalization while crossing $113,000.

This shows active investor trades rather than speculative growth, analysts said.

Milk Road co-founder Kyle Reidhead has set a $150,000 target for Bitcoin. The expert sees a bullish cup-and-handle formation that formed in June.

Reidhead is confident of further gains for the asset after it returns to $112,000.

The chief analyst of Bitget Research, Ryan Lee, shares the same forecast, provided that the current trend and inflows of institutional capital are maintained. In a commentary to ForkLog, the expert said that several factors are influencing the strengthening of Bitcoin:

All this creates conditions for a continuation of the bullish trend as early as the start of the third quarter.

As Lee noted, growth above $117,000 is an important signal for the market and can only be an intermediate stop before a new spurt. The average projected price of Bitcoin in the coming months is $125,000, with an expected trading range of $105,000 to $150,000.

The $108,500 (support) and $130,000 (resistance) levels remain important technical benchmarks. According to Lee, consolidation above $130,000 will open the way to a new phase of growth.

 announced the purchase of $100 million worth of the meme coin TRUMP.

On July 7, the DAO behind the development of TRON announced the migration of TRUMP to the network. At $8.89 when the announcement was published, the token rose by 2.7%.

In May 2025, Justin Sun attended a gala dinner hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump for top holders of the TRUMP token. On the eve of the event, the TRON founder stated he owns nearly $19 million worth of the meme token—more than anyone else, according to CNBC.

Strengthening the Bond Between TRON and TRUMP

Mutual support between the two projects has developed gradually over time. In November 2024, weeks after Trump's election, Sun announced a $30 million investment in World Liberty Financial (WLF).

Following Sun’s appointment as an advisor to WLF, he increased his investment in the WLFI token to $75 million. In January 2025, World Liberty Financial added $4.7 million to TRON's investment portfolio, according to the Arkham Report.

In 2023, the SEC filed charges against Sun and three of his companies, including TRON Foundation Limited, for an unregistered offering of securities in the form of TRON (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT) tokens.

In February, Sun and the SEC filed a motion with the court to stay the litigation to seek a dismissal of the case. Since Trump's ascension to the White House, regulators have stopped pursuing a number of cryptocurrency companies, including Coinbase, Robinhood, Ripple, Kraken, ConsenSys, Cumberland, Nova Labs, and Uniswap.

In April, in a rebuttal to the agency's lawsuit, Sun stated that the SEC lacks authority to regulate the sale of foreign digital assets to overseas investors on global platforms outside the U.S.

The Commission attributed its right to legally prosecute TRON's founder to the fact that he was a frequent visitor to the U.S.

The decentralized exchange (DEX) GMX has suffered a hacker attack, resulting in approximately $42 million in digital asset losses. The incident drew swift attention from the crypto community, with a researcher known as DeFi Cheetah among the first to notice the suspicious outflow of funds.

According to on-chain data, at the time of reporting, the hacker was transferring assets from the L2 Arbitrum solution to Ethereum. The attacker had already exchanged some USDC stablecoins for DAI. The compromised wallet also held various digital assets, including wBTC, ETH, wETH, UNI, and LINK. Assets in the hacker's wallet were tracked and reported by DeBank.

GMX representatives confirmed the breach, stating that the GLP coin pool on GMX V1 in the Arbitrum network was targeted. In response, the platform took decisive action:

Platform representatives emphasized that the vulnerability did not affect GMX V2, its markets, liquidity pools, or the GMX native token, reassuring users about the safety of other assets and services.

Following the attack, GMX's exchange rate dropped by 17%, falling from $15 to $11.40, according to CoinGecko. This sharp decline reflected both the immediate impact of the exploit and the broader market's sensitivity to security incidents in DeFi.

This incident underscores the importance of rapid detection and transparent communication in the DeFi sector. GMX’s immediate response—disabling affected services and clarifying the scope of the vulnerability—helped contain the fallout and reassure users. The episode also highlights the ongoing challenges of securing cross-chain assets and the need for robust risk management in decentralized protocols.

As the DeFi ecosystem matures, such events serve as critical reminders for both users and developers to prioritize security, monitor on-chain activity, and maintain open channels of communication during crises.

In the world of crypto, few names generate as much interest—or confusion—as 

. Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk's Twitter posts have notoriously sent cryptocurrencies soaring or crashing, and his public musings about Bitcoin and Dogecoin are the stuff of legend. 

But in June of 2025, a new wave of speculation washed over the crypto space: that Musk would be investing a whopping $104 billion into Ripple's XRP. The news spread like wildfire, causing people to discuss it, causing prices to fluctuate, and creating a flurry of social media posts.

But is this rumor genuine, or is this yet another example of crypto's rumor mill gone wild?

The latest craziness began when certain crypto news aggregators and social handles started sharing headlines asserting Elon Musk wasn't just interested in XRP, but was going to invest a mind-boggling $104 billion in the token. 

Others even cited "insider sources" or stated leaked documents suggested Musk's intention to use XRP as the basis for his payment strategies on X (formerly Twitter) or Tesla.

Musk rumors are discredited fact-checked by reputable crypto news outlets shortly after. There is no such valid information, Crypto Times says, that Musk plans or has invested in XRP. The $104 billion, in particular, appears to be a hoax, most likely stemming from previous speculations or misinterpreted tweets.

Elon Musk's influence on crypto markets is the stuff of legend. His tweets about Bitcoin's energy usage, to mention just one example, have wiped out billions in market cap overnight. His fondness for Dogecoin turned a meme coin mainstream. So when rumor associates Musk with a new token or initiative, traders and bots react instinctively, sometimes before verifying the information.

The XRP rumour was not unique. Within hours, #ElonMuskXRP was trending on Twitter, and leveraged trading volume exploded. Some XRP traders were celebrating, while others insisted on a normal "buy the rumor, sell the news."

: No SEC filing, company press release, or credible source confirms any Musk investment in XRP.

: Elon Musk has never tweeted about XRP, nor has he publicly endorsed Ripple or its token anywhere in recent history.

: The $104B figure also appears to be recycled rumor fuel, promoted by social media algorithms and clickbait headlines.

Crypto Times and other mainstream publications enhance the importance of skepticism and research, especially when rumors involve celebrity figures like Musk.

Why XRP Still Matters—With or Without Musk

Despite the false rumor, XRP remains one of the most widely traded cryptocurrencies on the planet. Ripple's aggressive expansion to grow its On-Demand Liquidity network, achieve regulatory clarity, and work with banks maintains real-world adoption momentum. The Musk rumor, as false as it may be, did serve to highlight just how quickly sentiment can shift—and just how much attention XRP continues to attract.

The Elon Musk-XRP saga is the ultimate text book demonstration of what happens when rumors, hype, and Twitter converge in crypto. While the idea of a $104 billion investment was great copy, reality—the way it so often does in crypto—was much less dramatic. For investors and hobbyists alike, the lesson is straightforward: make sure to check your facts before you FOMO, and let's face it here, the world of digital assets is one where not everything that's trending is real.

Bloomberg experts also expat a near-term green light for a basket-based crypto ETF and elevated approval chances for other altcoins like Dogecoin and Cardano.Overall, the SEC’s evolving stance could be the start of a new era of crypto investment access through traditional markets.

A crypto ETF is a type of investment fund that tracks the price of one or more cryptocurrencies and trades on traditional stock exchanges, just like stocks. Instead of buying and holding the actual crypto, investors can gain exposure to its price movements through the ETF. Some ETFs hold the cryptocurrencies directly (spot ETFs), while others track 

 or indexes. Crypto ETFs make it easier and safer for traditional investors to access the crypto market without needing a crypto wallet or exchange account.

Historically, Grayscale’s crypto trusts offered investors 

 by exploiting the premium or discount to the fund's net asset value (NAV), largely due to their lock-up periods and the absence of in-kind redemptions. However, as the firm continues to convert these trusts into ETFs, such profit windows have gradually closed. According to Grayscale, the goal of the newly approved ETF is for its share value to track the weighted prices of the underlying digital assets, minus any expenses and liabilities.

, and provided a gateway for traditional investors to gain digital asset exposure without directly holding cryptocurrencies. This conversion is a turning point for both the firm and the broader industry as it reflects a trend toward more 

The company’s efforts to convert its Bitcoin trust into an ETF were initially blocked by the SEC, which started a

After more than a year, a federal judge sided with Grayscale in August of 2023 by declaring the SEC’s denial “arbitrary and capricious.” This victory allowed Grayscale to proceed with its ETF plans. Today, its Bitcoin ETF has the highest expense ratio on the market at 1.5%, but also ranks as the leading revenue-generating Bitcoin investment product.

The United States SEC is also reportedly considering a streamlined listing process for 

. This could significantly reduce the time and complexity involved in bringing these products to market. 

, the SEC may allow ETF issuers to bypass the traditional 19b-4 application—which is a form that currently must be submitted before listing a financial product on a public exchange. Instead, issuers would file a form S-1, which initiates the 

. After a 75-day review period, if the SEC does not raise objections, the issuer could proceed to list the ETF without the usual back-and-forth negotiations with regulators. This potential change could be a huge step in modernizing the SEC's approach to crypto products and improving efficiency in the listing process.

While the proposed structure could drastically reduce approval timelines and regulatory friction, details about eligibility criteria for the cryptocurrencies that might qualify are still unclear. The lack of specificity on which digital assets could be fast-tracked under the new system leaves room for speculation and continued lobbying from fund managers and industry participants eager to see a broader range of crypto ETFs approved. As it stands, the SEC has not confirmed these changes, and ETF issuers are still awaiting formal clarification.

The conversation around ETF innovation took place at a time when the SEC already approved the first-ever staked crypto ETF in the US. The 

 (STAK) recently received the green light, and incorporates 

 into its investment model. This approval could pave the way for other altcoin and 

, especially as the SEC now faces a wave of pending applications involving Litecoin, Dogecoin, Solana, XRP, and Ethereum. 

, these proposals face final deadlines later in 2025, with some potentially reaching a decision as early as October. If the SEC moves forward with the simplified listing process, it could unlock a whole new era of crypto investment vehicles.

Meanwhile, analysts raised the likelihood of SEC approval for 

, and Litecoin spot ETFs to 95%. Bloomberg ETF experts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart shared the updated forecast in a 

, and pointed to the increasing momentum and regulatory developments that could lead to a wave of approvals in the second half of 2025. The same 95% probability was also assigned to the potential approval of a spot ETF tracking a basket or index of crypto assets, which could be granted as early as this week.

While the final decision on the Solana, XRP, and 

 ETFs is expected by October, optimism continues to build across the 

. Other cryptocurrencies are also in the mix, with analysts assigning a 90% approval probability to spot ETFs for Dogecoin, Cardano, Polkadot, Hedera, and Avalanche. These decisions are slated for the fourth quarter..

More niche projects like Sui and Tron have lower chances of approval in the near term, with odds at 60% and 50%, respectively, for the ETFs filed by Canary Capital. These figures suggest that while the mainstream altcoins may soon achieve ETF status, lesser-known tokens face a more uncertain regulatory path.

On the other hand the SEC’s hesitancy around staking is still very evident, especially after it 

 its decision on whether the Bitwise spot Ether ETF could include 

 its decision on approving the Osprey Bitcoin Trust for trading. Despite this cautious approach, the wave of upcoming ETF approvals could be the start of a transformative period for altcoin exposure in traditional financial markets.
