The agency asked the Chinese company to provide information about the location and method of storing users' personal information. In response, the startup emphasized that its app does not fall under the jurisdiction of EU law.
The regulator removed DeepSeek from the Apple and Google app stores in the country.
Taiwan
Taiwan's Ministry of Digital Technology said DeepSeek “threatens national information security.” Government agencies are banned from using the company's AI models.
It is claimed that public sector and critical infrastructure workers are at risk of “cross-border information transfer and leakage”. The ban applies to employees of government agencies, schools and businesses.

US Congress
US congressional offices have been notified of the ban on DeepSeek's AI technology.
“Attackers are already using DeepSeek to spread malware and infect devices. To mitigate the risks, the House of Representatives has taken security measures to restrict DeepSeek [...],” the document reads.
Employees are banned from installing the Chinese firm's apps on company smartphones, computers and tablets.
Texas
Texas has banned the use of DeepSeek and other Chinese companies' software on state government-issued devices.
“Texas will not allow the Chinese Communist Party to infiltrate our state's critical infrastructure through data-collecting AI and social media apps. We will continue to protect our state from hostile foreign actors,” the statement said.
US Navy
The U.S. Navy has informed its personnel to abandon DeepSeek technology. Potential safety and ethical concerns are cited as the reason.
The use of AI for official and personal use is prohibited.
Pentagon
The Pentagon restricted access to the Chinese company's technology, but left the possibility of using neural networks through the authorized Ask Sage platform, which works autonomously and does not interact directly with Chinese servers.
NASA
Similar to other agencies, NASA has also banned the use of DeepSeek tools. The organization is concerned about the location of the company's servers outside the US, which poses national security risks.
Australia
The Chinese app is banned on all officials' devices. They are ordered to remove the chatbot due to “unacceptable risk to Australia.”
In addition, DeepSeek has been banned by hundreds of corporations around the world. The greatest fear is associated with a possible leak of data at the disposal of the Chinese government.
In January, Wiz Research researchers discovered an open DeepSeek database containing chat history, private keys, backend details and other sensitive information.
