Today, at 11 AM PT, Funko, a well-known toy company famous for its awesome collectibles, is launching a brand-new set of NFTs.
"Funko is bringing your favorite characters from Back to the Future to life, now as Digital Pop!. Travel back in time and collect this futuristic collection," Funko’s team invites the fans of the epic movie to participate in a much-anticipated drop of brand-new NFTs.

Altogether, there are 45,000 Funko NFTs dedicated to the adventures of beloved characters. Among them, collectors can find the most sought-after items, such as the Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly Funko Pop NFT assets. Additionally, the collection includes Einstein Funko Pop and the time machine Funko Pop. Most of the NFTs in the series feature animated digital artwork designed in the form of NFT cards.
Funko distributes its NFTs in two types of packs. The first is a Standard Pack priced at $9.99, which includes five NFTs. For $29.99, collectors can opt for a Premium Pack that contains fifteen items.
The Back to the Future Funko NFT collection comprises collectibles of various rarity levels, including Legendary and Grail.
Funko has also created exclusive physical collectibles dedicated to its NFT drop. The Funko team claims there are several ways to obtain a unique figurine, and one of them involves collecting a Grail, Legendary, or Royal Set of Funko NFTs. Such a set grants its owner a Redemption Token, which can be used to redeem the physical collectible. Funko recommends using a dedicated Collection Tracker to monitor your progress. The company has scheduled the redemption for February 14, 2024.
The company warns that "Collecting a Grail, Legendary, or Royalty Set after the snapshot will not grant you a Redemption Token" and does not recommend "opening packs or transferring items for at least one hour before or after the snapshot time to be certain they are included in the snapshot."
Note that Redemption Tokens also have an expiration date after which you will not be able to exchange them for a physical collectible. For The Back to the Future Funko NFT collection, the redemption period ends on March 15th, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM PT.
"Purchase packs by joining the queue a few minutes before the sale begins on October 17th, 2023, at 11 AM PT for a random place in line. Shop packs and Digital Pop!™ after the initial pack sale on the Dropp Marketplace," the official Funko website explains how collectors can obtain their Funko NFTs.
The Back to the Future Funko NFT collection is the first series of digital collectibles from Funko dedicated to the cult movie. However, starting with its initial digital collection, Funko Pop Transformers, which featured NFTs with transforming Optimus Prime, Devastator Transformers, Sideswipe Transformers, Hot Rod Transformers, and Freddy Funko as a Bumblebee transformer toy, released on March 15, 2022, through the WAX blockchain, the company has since launched several movie-themed NFT collections.

The Digital Stranger Things Funko Pop, featuring Eddie Munson as one of the most sought-after items, along with Jurassic Park Funko Pop, It Funko Pop, and Funko Matrix, are just a few of the NFT collections that have already been minted by Funko. Note that you can still purchase NFTs from the Stranger Things Funko Pop and the Jurassic Park Funko Pop collections, while the IT Funko Pop and Funko Matrix NFTs have already been completely sold out.
In addition to movie-themed NFT collections, Funko has also launched numerous successful NFT series based on cartoons and comics. These include Funko Pop My Little Pony, featuring leading characters such as My Little Pony Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Queen Chrysalis, and Twilight Sparkle, as well as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Funko Pop, featuring the Raphael ninja turtle, Leonardo ninja turtle, Michelangelo ninja turtle, and April O'Neal.
