Unitree stock jumped 460% in its first day of trading as strong demand pushed the profitable humanoid robot maker toward a $50 billion valuation.

Unitree stock exploded higher in its Shanghai trading debut on Wednesday, briefly giving China’s leading humanoid robot maker a valuation of more than $60 billion.

Shares of Unitree Robotics opened at 1,100 yuan on Shanghai’s STAR Market, 629% above the IPO price of 150.80 yuan. The stock later pulled back but still closed at 845 yuan, which is a gain of roughly 460% on its first day and valuing the company at around $50 billion. Unitree stock trades under the ticker 688836.

The Hangzhou-based robot maker raised approximately 6.1 billion yuan, or about $900 million, through the offering. Retail demand was extraordinary, with the IPO reportedly oversubscribed thousands of times.

Why Is Unitree Stock Attracting So Much Attention?

Unitree gives public-market investors a rare direct way to gain exposure to the humanoid robotics industry.

The company shipped more than 5,500 humanoid robots in 2025, ranking first globally, according to its IPO disclosures. More importantly, Unitree has already turned its robotics business into a profitable operation while many competitors are still spending heavily on research and commercialization.

Robots

Revenue reached 1.699 billion yuan in 2025, while adjusted profit was approximately 590 million yuan. Humanoid robots generated about 868 million yuan, which accounted for nearly 52% of revenue, overtaking Unitree’s quadruped robots as its biggest business segment.

Unitree also counts Tencent, Alibaba and other major Chinese technology investors among its backers. AI startup DeepSeek also participated in the IPO placement.

The company plans to direct a large portion of its IPO proceeds toward robot AI models, new robot development and manufacturing capacity. This could potentially help it capitalize on growing demand for so-called embodied AI.

However, the valuation leaves expectations priced into Unitree stock. More than 40% of its 2025 revenue came from overseas markets, while recent US restrictions on imports of foreign-made humanoid and quadruped robots could create uncertainty around future international growth.

After one of the most dramatic technology IPO debuts of 2026, investors will now be watching whether Unitree can turn its early robotics lead into sustained revenue and profit growth.
