Speakers include Austin Federa from Solana Labs, Giulia Archetti of Sotheby’s, and Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of Sandbox. A few hours into the event, Palais Brongniart is filled up with big names like Algorand, Binance, Bored Ape, ByBit, ConsenSys, Ripple, and Sandbox.
Attendees are treated to special perks, from NFT mystery boxes courtesy of the Binance NFT marketplace to high-quality printing of NFTs by Solid NFT. BlackPool, an NFT industry fund, will throw a Non-Fungible Auction to highlight up-and-coming NFT projects and raise money for children with rare illnesses.
During the first few hours, Embed’s Roisagi said that Web3 is “only a step for the metaverse,” and Grégory Boutté from Kering called ownership tracking the “Holy Grail,” stressing that in the future, “customers need to own their data."
A replica of the event is available in Decentraland, with keynotes on the master stage and selected event sponsors welcoming virtual guests at their booths. When entering the metaverse, visitors will receive a complimentary NFT.
On April 13-14, the event morphs into Paris Blockchain Week Summit, which will feature talks on traceability, blockchain innovation, digital governance, liquidity, and international regulations. Expected guests include Binance’s Changpeng Zhao, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX, among others.
