Strive (ASST) Stock Rises as Firm Buys 79 Bitcoin, Treasury Reaches 20,246 BTC

Strive Asset Management shares jumped 7% as the company expanded its Bitcoin treasury with another 79 BTC purchase worth about $5 million. The Nasdaq-listed company bought the Bitcoin between August 10 and August 14 at an average price of roughly $63,231 per BTC, bringing its total holdings to 20,246 BTC.

The latest BTC buy has upped Strive’s Bitcoin holdings to about $1.27 billion based on current market prices. The company also maintains $154.8 million in cash and cash equivalents, giving it additional liquidity alongside its growing cryptocurrency position.

Strive Bitcoin Treasury Reaches 20,246 BTC

Strive’s latest purchase keeps the company among the larger publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holders. The additional 79 BTC continues a gradual accumulation strategy that has expanded its balance sheet exposure throughout 2026.

The company finances its Bitcoin purchases through capital-market programs rather than relying solely on traditional senior debt. Those funding sources include at-the-market preferred stock offerings and its SATA securities program, which provide additional capital for treasury purchases.

Strive also holds 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock, valued at approximately $47.86 million. The position adds another digital asset-linked security to Strive’s balance sheet alongside its direct Bitcoin holdings.

The company’s $154.8 million cash position remains separate from its cryptocurrency reserves and STRC investment. That liquidity gives Strive funds that can support operating needs and future capital decisions without requiring immediate Bitcoin sales.

Strive Responds to MSCI’s New Index Proposal

Strive is also reviewing MSCI’s revised proposal covering the eligibility of companies with large investment assets in broad market indexes. The company previously opposed an approach that could exclude firms like Strategy when digital assets represented at least 50% of total assets.

Strive CEO Matt Cole has said the newer framework represents an improvement because MSCI is now considering broader financial and operating measures rather than focusing specifically on Bitcoin or other digital assets. He has also argued that companies using capital markets and structured finance to build Bitcoin treasuries should still qualify as operating businesses.

Cole says Strive expects to continue engaging with MSCI while reviewing the proposal. He has not committed to a final position and says the company intends to assess the framework before submitting its response.

Amid the updates, Wall Street forecasts have remained above Strive’s latest reported share price. Based on three analysts covering Strive Inc. during the past three months, the average 12-month ASST stock price target stands at $30.

The forecasts range from a $28 low target to a $32 high target. Compared with a recent share price of $13.20, the $30 average forecast represents potential upside of approximately 127%.
