Hold on to your seats, crypto enthusiasts and animation lovers! The much-anticipated blockchain-powered animated series, "Krapopolis," from the genius mind of Dan Harmon, co-creator of "Rick and Morty," is finally ready to make its grand debut on September 24, 2023. This groundbreaking venture, born amidst the NFT mania of spring 2021, is the first brainchild of Blockchain Creative Labs (BCL), Fox Entertainment's very own NFT marketplace.

Despite the crypto market's tumultuous journey and the waning public fervor for NFTs, Fox remained undeterred. In an audacious move, it greenlit "Krapopolis" for three full seasons even before the first episode hit the screens, a rarity in the Hollywood landscape for a series based on original IP.

The wait is almost over, and the curtain is about to rise on "Krapopolis." The details of how the blockchain will be woven into the fabric of the series are becoming more apparent. Early adopters have been snapping up Krap Chickens, a collection of 10,420 NFTs promising some level of show-related access. This collection has already raked in a whopping 512 ETH, translating to over $956,344 at the time of writing.

But what's the real deal with these chickens? Fox has unveiled a series of behind-the-scenes animated clips from the show's production process, accessible on the show's site by linking a Krap Chicken NFT. Moreover, Krap Chicken holders will enjoy exclusive privileges, like attending in-person events, influencing the show's direction, and using eggs generated by their NFTs to buy affiliated merchandise and digital goods.

In a nod to recent branding trends, "Krapopolis" and its related materials steer clear of the terms “NFT,” “crypto,” and “metaverse,” opting instead for the more neutral "blockchain." The series features a star-studded cast, including Hannah Waddingham of "Ted Lasso," Richard Ayoade from "The I.T. Crowd," and Matt Berry of "What We Do In The Shadows." The plot revolves around a quirky family of humans, gods, and monsters, attempting to run one of the world's first cities without killing each other.
