Key takeaways
- The airline is adding nonstop flights to six destinations across the US and Caribbean
- Breeze is expanding into underserved markets, including Myrtle Beach and Latrobe
- Breeze is strengthening its also international network
Breeze Airways is expanding its flight network with nonstop services to six destinations, including routes previously operated by Spirit Airlines. The expansion will strengthen the low-cost carrier's presence in the United States and introduce more connections to the Caribbean.
Airlines are responding to gaps left by Spirit Airlines, whose shutdown earlier in 2026 disrupted several popular leisure routes. Breeze is making sure to capture some of that demand by offering direct flights between underserved cities and vacation destinations.
Breeze Airways Adds New Routes After Spirit Airlines Shutdown
One of the biggest beneficiaries of the expansion will be Myrtle Beach International Airport in South Carolina, where Breeze is increasing its presence after Spirit's departure. The airline plans to introduce several connections, including nonstop flights between Myrtle Beach and Boston beginning May 4, 2027.

Breeze will also restore scheduled passenger services at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, which lost its commercial airline connections following Spirit's exit. Flights between Latrobe and Myrtle Beach are scheduled to begin Feb. 9, 2027, followed by Latrobe-to-Orlando services on May 26.
Buffalo, New York, is another focus of the expansion, with new connections planned to Raleigh-Durham, Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina.
These additions are all part of Breeze's strategy of connecting cities that have limited nonstop flight options.
Tampa Gets More Caribbean Flights as Breeze Expands Internationally
Alongside its domestic expansion, Breeze is strengthening its international network through Tampa International Airport. The airline's growing Caribbean schedule includes connections to Montego Bay, Jamaica; St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands; and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Flights between Tampa and Santo Domingo are scheduled to begin June 18, 2027, operating twice weekly. The route will offer another direct option for passengers traveling between Florida and the Dominican capital. Breeze is also adding nonstop flights between Raleigh-Durham and Nassau, Bahamas, beginning June 30, 2027.
The international expansion will allow Breeze to target both leisure travelers and passengers visiting family and friends.
Breeze Airways Targets Growth in Underserved Markets
Breeze Airways built its business around offering affordable, point-to-point flights without requiring passengers to connect through major airline hubs. Its growing fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft supports this strategy by allowing the carrier to operate routes between smaller markets.
With Spirit Airlines no longer serving several former destinations, Breeze sees an opportunity to expand its network and attract travelers looking for convenient nonstop flights.
