"We've just got to deal with the failures head-on and try to learn from them,” Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said in his opening speech at CoinMarketCap’s flagship event, The Capital 2022. The conference starts as the crypto community reels from the recent meltdown of Terra and the spooky lows of major cryptocurrencies, including BTC and ETH.

Apart from CZ, speakers at the event include crypto giants like MicroStrategy CEO and Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor, deputy editor-in-chief at CoinDesk Zack Seward, and The Sandbox co-founder Sebastien Borget.

CoinMarketCap’s conference focuses on blockchain adoption, trading, decentralization, and DeFi, plus Web3, the metaverse, and NFTs. Workshops on how to mint NFTs or get hired in crypto are also on the schedule. Tomorrow, the opening keynote will be delivered by TRON founder Justin Sun.

The conference’s sponsors have set up their stands in the metaverse, and live streaming will broadcast fireside chats, speeches, and panels. Organizers believe the event could attract as many as 5,000 attendees, a thin crowd compared to Miami’s Bitcoin 2022 conference, which saw an estimated 30,000 people.
