Key takeaways
- Ripple expects over 1,500 attendees at New York conference
- CME, BNY and Robinhood executives join institutional discussions
- XRP Ledger development and RLUSD adoption take center stage
Ripple is preparing to host its largest Swell conference yet, bringing more than 100 speakers and over 1,500 expected attendees to New York from October 27–29 as traditional financial institutions expand their involvement in blockchain infrastructure.
The three-day event at The Shed in Manhattan will feature executives from CME Group, BNY, Robinhood, Intercontinental Exchange and several other major financial companies.
According to Ripple's official agenda, Swell 2026 will include more than 80 sessions across three stages, with discussions covering tokenized assets, institutional payments, stablecoins, cryptocurrency markets and the future of the XRP Ledger.
For the first time, Ripple is combining Swell with XRPL Apex and UBRI Connect, bringing financial executives, blockchain developers and academic researchers together.
Ripple Brings Wall Street Executives to Swell 2026
The speaker lineup includes Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, CME Group Chairman and CEO Terrence Duffy, Bullish CEO Tom Farley and representatives from BNY, Robinhood, ICE, Barclays and State Street.
Actor Matt Damon and Water.org cofounder Gary White will also appear to discuss financing solutions for global water access.
The institutional emphasis builds on Ripple's earlier Swell announcement, which positioned the conference around the intersection of traditional banking infrastructure and digital assets.
A particularly relevant discussion involves Ripple's recently announced partnership with DriveWealth.
The companies plan to explore using RLUSD to support international brokerage funding and settlement operations, potentially reaching a network serving more than 100 financial partners.
Their October 28 conference session will provide another opportunity to discuss the DriveWealth integration, although no additional product launch has been confirmed.
XRP Ledger Lending and RLUSD Expansion Enter the Spotlight
Beyond institutional partnerships, Swell will focus on the infrastructure needed to bring more financial assets onto public blockchains.
Ripple's institutional business has expanded through custody, brokerage services and stablecoin settlement, including Standard Chartered's RLUSD integration.
The company also recently partnered with Arf to bring RLUSD-powered financing to the XRP Ledger, connecting the network with an existing payments business handling approximately $10 billion annually.
That settlement financing initiative could eventually use XRPL's proposed native lending architecture.
However, lending remains subject to validator approval.
Coinpaper's latest amendment report also shows that a separate XRPL cleanup upgrade has been delayed until a conditional November 4 activation target.
David Schwartz and RippleX engineering executive Ayo Akinyele are scheduled to discuss the network's development, including the technical challenges facing broader institutional adoption.
Could Ripple Swell 2026 Influence XRP's Outlook?
Ripple has historically used Swell to present product developments and institutional partnerships, making the conference an important event for investors following its ecosystem.
This year's agenda also includes the first year of spot XRP ETFs, digital-asset custody, tokenization and institutional liquidity.
However, Ripple's business expansion should not automatically be interpreted as increased demand for XRP.
Many institutional applications use RLUSD or tokenized securities rather than requiring significant purchases of the network's native cryptocurrency.
The distinction is especially important while XRPL's lending and privacy proposals await sufficient validator support.
