Wallets linked to the TRUMP memecoin team withdrew about $3.39 million in USDC from Solana liquidity pools over a 10-hour period, reviving scrutiny of a mechanism that has repeatedly converted TRUMP tokens into stablecoins.
The latest withdrawal came as TRUMP rallied alongside a broader improvement in crypto sentiment. On-chain tracker Lookonchain said the wallets added TRUMP into single-sided liquidity positions on Meteora, where trader activity gradually converted the tokens into USDC. The stablecoins were then removed from the pool.
Liquidity withdrawals return during rally
The process differs from a direct market sale. Rather than sending a large block of TRUMP to an exchange, team-linked wallets supply the token to a liquidity range. As market participants trade against the position, TRUMP is effectively exchanged for USDC.
The same structure has appeared before. In April 2025, wallets linked to the team withdrew about $4.6 million in USDC before moving funds through Ethereum to Coinbase Prime. By December, the same wallet had reportedly removed roughly $94 million over 30 days, with individual transfers ranging from $2 million to $17.2 million.
Retail losses remain a key concern
The renewed activity comes after large losses among retail holders. Nearly one million TRUMP buyers were in the red by the end of June, with combined realized and unrealized losses estimated at $3.81 billion. Coinpaper’s recent look at TRUMP losses found that roughly two-thirds of wallets that bought the token were losing money.
Interest around Trump-linked crypto assets remains elevated. Recent estimates placed the Trump family’s broader crypto wealth near $1.4 billion, while a Reuters/Ipsos survey showed 63% of respondents viewed the family’s crypto profits as inappropriate.
TRUMP remains especially sensitive to political headlines and social-media momentum, a feature common across meme coins, where liquidity and sentiment can matter more than traditional fundamentals.
Removing liquidity does not automatically trigger a price decline. But thinner pools can increase slippage and make TRUMP more vulnerable to sharp moves if demand fades.
That makes the timing important: the token is rallying, while team-linked wallets are again converting liquidity into stablecoins.
