Key takeaways
- Bitcoin and Ethereum remain strong contenders for November despite October's market volatility
- Stacks, Solana, and XRP offer potential driven by institutional adoption, network upgrades, and upcoming developments
- Chainlink, Ondo Finance, and Hyperliquid present opportunities in real-world asset tokenization, decentralized finance, and crypto trading infrastructure
The crypto market enters November 2026 after a difficult October, with Bitcoin struggling to maintain momentum, cryptocurrency ETFs experiencing outflows, and uncertainty surrounding US interest rates weighing on investor sentiment.
Bitcoin fell below $80,000 toward the end of October, while the Federal Reserve's decision to leave interest rates unchanged at 3.75%–4% added to uncertainty about the market's next move.
For investors considering putting $1,000 into cryptocurrency this November, these eight digital assets offer different opportunities based on potential upcoming catalysts.
1. Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin is one of the strongest candidates for investors looking for long-term cryptocurrency exposure, despite its disappointing October performance.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a lot of volatility throughout the month. After attracting approximately $424 million over three consecutive trading sessions toward the end of October, the funds suffered renewed withdrawals on Oct. 30.
Nevertheless, institutional investment products continue to provide an important source of demand for Bitcoin.
November could also prove important because of the US midterm elections on Nov. 3 and changing expectations surrounding Federal Reserve interest rate decisions. Although Bitcoin is still sensitive to macroeconomic developments, its established market position and institutional adoption make it an important cryptocurrency to consider.
2. Stacks (STX)
Stacks is another cryptocurrency worth considering in November, particularly because of growing institutional interest in earning yield on Bitcoin.
In October, Stacks reported that its Bitcoin Staking initiative attracted approximately 735 BTC across its first two bonding periods. The second period alone brought in 505 BTC, alongside 6.7 million STX.
The initiative has already attracted institutional participants, including 21Shares, HashKey Cloud, UTXO Management, and Sypher Capital.
Stacks also reported that the amount of staked STX increased by more than 25% from its post-upgrade baseline, reaching approximately 493 million STX.
With additional Bitcoin bonding periods planned throughout the remainder of 2026, November could provide another opportunity for the network to attract institutional participation.
3. Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum is also an important crypto for investors interested in decentralized finance, stablecoins, and tokenized financial assets. However, October was challenging for ETH. US spot Ethereum ETFs experienced big withdrawals, with net outflows exceeding $1.3 billion by Oct. 28.
Despite weakening institutional investment flows, Ethereum continues to develop its underlying infrastructure. The upcoming Glamsterdam network upgrade is a major focus, with improvements intended to strengthen Ethereum's scalability and efficiency.
Additionally, Devcon 8, which is scheduled for Nov. 3–6 in Mumbai, could bring some more attention to Ethereum's ecosystem and development roadmap.
4. Solana (SOL)
Solana enters November with several potential catalysts, including an upcoming major industry conference and development of its high-performance blockchain infrastructure.
The network attracted interest from developers and financial institutions looking to build applications involving payments, stablecoins, and tokenized assets. Solana's highly anticipated Alpenglow upgrade is also an important development because it is designed to improve transaction finality and network performance.
Meanwhile, the Solana Breakpoint conference will take place in London from Nov. 15–17, and will bring together developers, investors, and financial institutions. The event could introduce additional partnerships and ecosystem announcements.
5. XRP (XRP)
XRP is a crypto to watch after several important developments involving Ripple and institutional financial infrastructure during October.
The XRP Ledger activated its Batch amendment on Oct. 9, which expanded the network's transaction capabilities.
Another development was made during Ripple's Swell conference, when Ripple received final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for Ripple National Trust Bank. The approval is an important milestone in Ripple's expansion into regulated financial services.
Additionally, BNY expanded its support for XRP and Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin through its institutional custody infrastructure. While these developments do not automatically translate into increased XRP demand, they strengthen Ripple's position in the institutional digital asset market.
6. Chainlink (LINK)
Chainlink is particularly interesting heading into November because of several major announcements made during October. At its Link event on Oct. 29, Chainlink introduced CustodySync, which is a solution designed to connect institutional digital asset custody with decentralized lending markets. Anchorage Digital was announced as the official launch partner.
Chainlink also introduced its 24/7 pricing solution for tokenized real-world assets, with Aave among the platforms adopting the technology.
These developments support Chainlink's growing role in connecting traditional financial infrastructure with blockchain networks. As more financial institutions explore tokenization and decentralized finance, Chainlink could benefit from increasing demand for its infrastructure and services.
7. Ondo Finance (ONDO)
Ondo Finance is another crypto worth considering as institutional interest in tokenized financial assets continues to expand. On Oct. 5, Ondo introduced Ondo Private Markets, a platform designed to provide eligible investors with tokenized exposure to private companies before they go public.
The company initially focused on private artificial intelligence businesses, combining two major investment themes: AI and blockchain tokenization.
Ondo also announced developments toward the end of October, including the launch of its Intelligent Portfolios on Solana and its participation in the DTCC Tokenization Service ecosystem.
Although the ONDO token carries market risks, the project's growing institutional infrastructure makes it worth monitoring in November.
8. Hyperliquid (HYPE)
Hyperliquid is a new addition to the November selection, and it offers exposure to the growing decentralized derivatives market.
Unlike many cryptocurrency projects that primarily focus on technological development, Hyperliquid has established an active trading platform with a revenue-generating business model.
One particularly important development involved the implementation of its Aligned Quote Assets v2 framework, which was expected to begin directing a portion of revenue generated from USDC reserves toward HYPE token buybacks in October.
According to earlier projections, this arrangement could potentially increase Hyperliquid's protocol revenue by approximately 18%, depending on reserve balances and interest rates. The additional revenue could strengthen the platform's token buyback mechanism, although the actual financial impact will depend on implementation and market conditions.
HYPE is a higher-risk candidate than established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, especially after its impressive gains earlier in 2026. Nevertheless, continued trading activity and revenue generation make Hyperliquid an interesting crypto to monitor.
Should You Invest $1,000 in Cryptocurrency This November?
November presents a mixture of opportunities and risks for cryptocurrency investors. Bitcoin and Ethereum are still established choices for investors looking for exposure to the broader market, while Stacks, Solana, and XRP offer potential catalysts involving network development and institutional adoption.
Meanwhile, Chainlink and Ondo Finance provide exposure to tokenization, and Hyperliquid offers a different opportunity through decentralized trading infrastructure.
However, October proved just how quickly cryptocurrency markets can change direction. ETF outflows, interest rate uncertainty, regulatory developments, and economic conditions could continue influencing prices throughout November.
