Blizzard the Avalanche Fund Leads $4 M Pre-Seed Round for Datagram’s DePIN Baselayer

Discover how a $4M pre-seed round led by a top blockchain fund enables a sovereign Layer 1 on Avalanche, repurposing idle compute for real-time DePIN.

Datagram secured $4 M in pre-seed funding led by Blizzard the Avalanche Fund to build a sovereign Layer 1 blockchain on Avalanche, tapping idle compute, storage, and bandwidth to power real-time decentralized applications.

Funding Round Details

Datagram closed a $4 M pre-seed round led by Blizzard the Avalanche Fund, with participation from:

  • Animoca Brands

  • Cointelegraph

  • Amber Group

  • Aquanow

  • Arche Fund

  • DePIN X Capital

  • ISKRA

  • JDI Ventures

  • Yellow Capital

  • A cohort of angel investors from leading infrastructure and blockchain organizations

The proceeds will accelerate node deployment in key markets, onboard strategic partners, and fund Datagram’s upcoming node sale and mainnet launch.

Harnessing Idle Infrastructure

Up to 80% of global connectivity resources—bandwidth, CPUs, and storage—remain unused in personal and enterprise systems. Datagram’s Hyper-Fabric Network repurposes this idle capacity into a high-availability, decentralized backbone that optimizes traffic for gaming, AI, communications, and more.

Sovereign Layer 1 on Avalanche

Built on Avalanche’s high-throughput consensus, Datagram offers deterministic finality, ultra-low latency, and native composability with over 200 enterprise partners and more than 1 M users worldwide. “Avalanche shares our belief that real-time infrastructure must be decentralized, efficient, and open,” said Jason Brink, CEO of Datagram Network. Its blockchain-agnostic substrate also enables seamless integration with emerging DePIN networks across chains.

Strategic Roadmap and Partnerships Datagram’s roadmap includes:

  • Partnerships across gaming, telecom, and AI sectors

  • Expansion of an AI-driven routing engine to optimize global node traffic

  • A public Alpha Testnet inviting users to run nodes, enhance network performance, and earn $DGRAM rewards

Investor Perspectives

“Datagram is building the missing link between underutilized infrastructure and real-time Web3 applications,” said Lydia Chiu, SVP of Corporate Development and CIO of Blizzard the Avalanche Fund. Leigh Travers, Director of Capital Markets at Animoca Brands, added, “Infrastructure is the foundation for digital freedom and ownership. Datagram’s architecture unlocks a decentralized model that can scale with real-world demand from gaming to AI to the broader open metaverse.”

As Datagram scales its node network and advances toward mainnet launch, its AI-driven Hyper-Fabric Network aims to redefine DePIN interoperability and establish a high-performance baselayer for the decentralized internet.
