Solana Tokenized Stock Trading Hits $657M in One Day as Backpack Accounts for 91%

Solana tokenized stock trading reaches $657M in one day, with Backpack accounting for $598M, or 91%, as onchain equity markets expand.

Key takeaways

  • Solana tokenized stock trading reaches $657 million daily
  • Backpack Securities generates 91% of reported trading activity
  • Market concentration raises questions about broader investor adoption

Solana's tokenized stock market recorded $657 million in trading volume on November 2, marking its strongest daily performance since June as blockchain-based equity trading continues expanding.

However, the latest figures reveal an unusual concentration. Backpack Securities accounted for $598 million, representing approximately 91% of the total, according to figures disclosed by Solana's official account and reported on November 4.

The activity was more than double any other daily total since September, although it remained below June's $683 million peak. The milestone follows a period of rapid growth in Solana's tokenized stock market, where holding addresses surpassed 1.5 million in October.

Backpack Dominates Solana's $657 Million Trading Day

The November 2 figures show that Backpack generated approximately $598 million in tokenized equity transactions, leaving just $59 million attributable to other market participants and platforms.

That concentration is notable because Solana supports several tokenized securities providers, including Ondo Finance, Securitize and xStocks.

Backpack has expanded aggressively since launching its tokenized equity platform in June 2026. According to its official platform data, the company generated more than $5.3 billion in cumulative onchain trading volume between June 12 and October 18.

During that period, its products accumulated more than 430,000 token-holding addresses, while its platform offered dozens of tokenized securities.

Backpack's model allows eligible customers to convert supported US-listed shares into blockchain tokens backed 1:1 by the underlying securities. Those tokens can move between compatible wallets and decentralized applications.

That approach builds on the broader tokenized securities expansion, which has brought blockchain-based versions of major US equities to Solana.

Trading Volume Doesn't Mean $657 Million in New Investments

The figures demonstrate substantial trading activity, but they do not establish that investors purchased $657 million in newly issued tokenized stocks.

Trading volume measures the value of transactions over a period. The same assets can change hands repeatedly, generating volume considerably larger than their outstanding supply.

That distinction matters because an earlier Solana adoption analysis found that incentives and memecoin trading contributed significantly to reported tokenized-equity activity.

The market is nevertheless expanding beyond individual stocks.

In October, Ondo introduced tokenized investment portfolios, while earlier Ondo stock listings brought more than 200 equities and ETFs to the network.

These developments demonstrate how Solana is becoming a venue for traditional financial products rather than solely cryptocurrency trading.

Tokenized Stocks Expand Into DeFi Lending

The growth is also creating new financial applications.

On November 4, Backpack Securities and Kamino announced that eligible holders could use supported tokenized US equities as collateral to borrow USDC without immediately selling their shares.

The companies reported approximately $50 million in tokenized equities supplied as collateral on Kamino as of October.

This creates opportunities for tokenized assets to function beyond trading, although borrowing introduces liquidation risks if collateral prices decline.

Earlier Galaxy Digital tokenization plans demonstrated how traditional companies are exploring similar blockchain-based ownership structures.
