Key takeaways
- Ripple introduces round-the-clock returns on eligible RLUSD balances
- American Airlines and Subway are existing treasury platform customers
- New AI automation connects corporate cash management with payments
Ripple has introduced 24/7 corporate treasury capabilities that allow eligible businesses to earn returns on qualifying digital assets, including its RLUSD stablecoin, while expanding its reach into the financial operations of major global companies.
Announced on October 26 and unveiled around Swell 2026, the upgraded platform combines digital payments, cash forecasting, liquidity management and AI-powered automation. Ripple named American Airlines, Subway, Adecco, Kingfisher, Christian Louboutin and Trax among businesses using its broader treasury solutions.
The announcement marks another step in Ripple's effort to bring XRP and RLUSD into conventional corporate finance, although it does not establish that every named customer uses the new stablecoin returns product.
Ripple Brings 24/7 RLUSD Returns to Corporate Treasury
The centerpiece is 24/7 Returns, a feature designed to help qualifying companies earn returns on digital assets held in Ripple wallets, including RLUSD.
Under traditional treasury arrangements, businesses often maintain operating cash to cover expenses and payments. Some balances remain unused overnight, over weekends or during holidays, even when companies could otherwise invest them.
Ripple wants to make these balances more productive without requiring corporate finance teams to manage the underlying digital asset transactions themselves.
In its official announcement, the company cited the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey, which found that 46% of organizations increased their U.S. cash balances over the previous year. Another 86% of treasury professionals expressed interest in real-time money market funds if those products satisfied company investment policies.
Ripple has not publicly specified the return rate, complete eligibility requirements or underlying investment mechanism. The product should therefore not be presented as a conventional savings account or a guaranteed-yield investment.
The expansion follows recent institutional RLUSD lending developments that have widened the stablecoin's potential applications beyond payments.
American Airlines and Subway Highlight Ripple's Corporate Reach
Ripple Treasury serves recognizable businesses including American Airlines, Subway, Christian Louboutin, Adecco, Kingfisher and Trax.
Several relationships predate this announcement. Subway previously received industry recognition for a treasury transformation project, while American Airlines has also been recognized for its use of treasury technology.
Their inclusion demonstrates Ripple's established corporate software relationships, not confirmed participation in 24/7 Returns.
The platform grew from Ripple's $1 billion acquisition of GTreasury in October 2025 and subsequently gained the ability to manage fiat currencies alongside digital assets.
That enterprise expansion provided access to traditional banking connectivity and treasury operations that cryptocurrency companies have historically struggled to penetrate.
Ripple Treasury's website now highlights more than 13,000 connected banks and over $13 trillion in payments volume. Those are platform-level figures, not RLUSD transaction volumes.
Could Corporate Cash Management Increase RLUSD Demand?
Ripple's other major addition is an orchestration layer connecting its GSmart AI tools with cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation and payment execution.
Earlier GSmart capabilities focused on treasury analysis and recommendations. The upgraded platform can coordinate workflows with configurable automation and company-defined controls.
These capabilities could make digital assets easier to use within existing finance departments, particularly when businesses need to move funds outside conventional banking hours.
Ripple has already connected RLUSD to brokerage settlement through its DriveWealth partnership and pursued cross-border liquidity with Arf.
The launch also follows Standard Chartered's RLUSD custody expansion, which provides another building block for institutional stablecoin adoption.
