- Interactive Brokers launches Ethereum staking through Zerohash
- Ethereum ETFs attract $24.8 million after prolonged withdrawals
- ETH faces critical resistance between $2,550 and $2,600
Ethereum is trading near $2,500 on October 14 as Interactive Brokers introduces ETH staking for eligible brokerage clients, expanding traditional investors' access to cryptocurrency rewards.
The October 13 launch comes as Ethereum attempts to recover from a difficult week marked by declining prices and substantial ETF withdrawals. Although renewed institutional interest could improve sentiment, ETH has yet to establish a convincing breakout above $2,550–$2,600.
Interactive Brokers Launches Ethereum Staking for Eligible Clients
According to the official announcement, Interactive Brokers has introduced cryptocurrency staking through infrastructure provider Zerohash.
At launch, eligible Interactive Brokers LLC customers can stake ETH directly through the broker's Client Portal, alongside their existing stock, options, futures and cryptocurrency investments.
Clients can submit staking and unstaking requests through a dedicated dashboard, monitor pending activity and receive rewards credited as additional staked cryptocurrency. Those rewards may compound while positions remain staked.
Interactive Brokers CEO Milan Galik compared the service to the company's Stock Yield Enhancement Program, explaining that investors should have opportunities to earn additional rewards from assets they already own.
The brokerage supports trading in 20 digital assets, with cryptocurrency commissions starting between 0.12% and 0.18% of trade value. However, its new staking functionality initially supports Ethereum only.
The development reinforces a broader trend toward institutional access to Ethereum staking, which already involved more than 43 million ETH in September.
Importantly, allowing existing holders to stake ETH does not necessarily create additional buying pressure, even if it encourages investors to retain their holdings longer.
Ethereum ETFs End 10-Day Outflow Streak With $24.8M Inflows
The brokerage announcement coincides with a modest improvement in Ethereum ETF demand.
According to Farside Investors, U.S. Ethereum ETFs attracted $24.8 million on October 13, ending ten consecutive trading sessions of net withdrawals.
Those previous sessions, spanning September 29 through October 12, produced approximately $782.8 million in combined outflows.
The reversal was driven by $16.7 million entering Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust and $8.1 million flowing into Fidelity's FETH.
However, the latest inflows offset only about 3.2% of the preceding withdrawals, suggesting institutional demand remains fragile.
This helps explain why ETH has struggled despite increased institutional participation.
Ethereum Price Prediction: Can ETH Reclaim $2,600?
Ethereum recovered from approximately $2,409 on October 13 to trade around $2,500 on October 14, suggesting buyers are defending the lower end of the recent trading range.
However, the previous ETH price analysis identified $2,550–$2,600 as an important resistance area.
From a $2,500 reference price, reaching $2,600 would require approximately 4% upside. A sustained move beyond that range could open a recovery toward $2,700, representing an 8% increase.
Conversely, another rejection below $2,550 could leave Ethereum vulnerable to renewed selling toward $2,400.
These levels represent conditional trading scenarios rather than confirmed forecasts.
Will Staking Growth Help Ethereum's Long-Term Price?
Ethereum's growing staking ecosystem could influence market supply by encouraging investors to commit ETH to network validation rather than keeping it immediately available for sale.
Still, staking does not permanently remove tokens from circulation, and withdrawals can eventually return previously staked ETH to liquid markets.
Recent staking withdrawal pressure illustrates why larger staking balances do not eliminate downside risk.
