XRP Treasury Stock XRPN Jumps 13% on Nasdaq Debut Before Erasing Gains

Evernorth's XRPN stock reaches $19.39 on its Nasdaq debut before retreating toward $17, putting its 473 million XRP treasury in focus.

XRP Treasury Stock XRPN Jumps 13% on Nasdaq Debut Before Erasing Gains

Evernorth Holdings' XRPN stock experienced a volatile Nasdaq debut Monday, October 12, surging as much as 13.5% above Friday's closing price before surrendering nearly all its gains within hours.

Shares opened at $16.68, briefly climbed to $19.39 and subsequently retreated toward $17 during midday trading. The reversal followed the company's completed merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, bringing one of the largest publicly traded XRP treasuries to the U.S. stock market.

The intraday move was notable because XRPN previously traded as the Armada SPAC before the merger. Friday's $17.09 closing price therefore provides a comparison with the predecessor security, rather than an earlier Evernorth operating-company trading session.

XRPN Stock Reverses After 13% Nasdaq Rally

Evernorth shares initially attracted buying interest before encountering selling pressure near $19.39, roughly 13.5% above the previous close. By midday, the stock was trading near $17, while its reported intraday range extended as low as $16.39.

According to Nasdaq's corporate-action notice, Armada's securities were suspended effective October 12 and replaced with Evernorth shares under the same XRPN ticker. Evernorth warrants also began trading under XRPNW.

The price reversal highlights the volatility surrounding the transaction, which was initially scheduled for October 8 before an administrative delay pushed the listing to Monday.

The stock's earlier trading history also requires caution. Armada shares had already experienced substantial price swings ahead of the merger, meaning historical XRPN performance cannot be interpreted entirely as investor demand for Evernorth.

Evernorth Brings 473 Million XRP to Public Markets

The company completed its business combination on October 9, reporting approximately 473 million XRP and $300 million in gross cash proceeds before transaction expenses.

Its shareholders include Ripple, SBI Group, Arrington Capital, Pantera Capital, Kraken and GSR. However, the listing does not mean that Evernorth purchased 473 million XRP on Monday; its treasury was assembled through previously arranged contributions and acquisitions.

Unlike a conventional spot XRP ETF, Evernorth plans to actively deploy its cryptocurrency holdings through institutional lending, liquidity provision and other strategies intended to increase XRP per share.

That strategy creates potential income opportunities alongside additional market, counterparty and operational risks. Investors buying XRPN own company shares, not direct claims to individually redeemable XRP tokens.

What Comes Next for XRP Treasury Investors?

Evernorth's first trading session follows the earlier Nasdaq listing delay, which moved the merger completion and trading dates into October's second week.

The company has also appointed former Coinbase Asset Management executive Hugo Jeandesboz as chief investment officer, strengthening its leadership as it prepares to manage a substantial XRP portfolio.

Evernorth is scheduled to ring Nasdaq's closing bell on October 14. Meanwhile, investors will be watching whether XRPN stabilizes after its opening volatility and how its market valuation compares with the value of its XRP holdings and other net assets.
