Apple, Nvidia and Tesla shares are moving onchain as Securitize opens a regulated tokenized-stock platform to eligible investors in the United States.
The company launched 12 tokenized U.S. equities on Solana, including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, Circle, Strategy and Palantir. Each token is backed 1:1 by an underlying share, while transactions settle in USDC.
Unlike many offshore products that simply track a company's share price, Securitize's structure gives holders securities entitlements tied to the underlying assets. Investors can receive applicable economic benefits, including dividends and, where available, voting rights.
Tokenized Stocks Reach U.S. Investors
The U.S. launch is significant because many existing tokenized-equity products have largely been restricted to investors outside America.
The broader tokenized stocks market includes several different structures, ranging from direct blockchain ownership records to custodian-backed tokens that provide economic exposure to shares.
Securitize operates through regulated securities infrastructure. Trading initially takes place during extended U.S. market hours, with the company planning to move toward 24/7 trading. Jump Trading provides onchain liquidity on Solana.
The underlying companies themselves have not sponsored these tokens, so buying tokenized Nvidia or Apple shares should not be confused with those companies issuing their own cryptocurrencies.
Solana Is Becoming a Major Equity Rail
Securitize is entering a market that is already growing quickly.
Ondo previously brought more than 200 tokenized equities and ETFs to Solana, giving the network a much larger role in blockchain-based stock trading.
Activity has expanded alongside the number of available assets. Tokenized-stock weekly spot trading reached nearly $3 billion during August, with Solana among the leading networks handling the volume.
Low transaction costs and rapid settlement make Solana particularly attractive for markets where assets could eventually trade around the clock.
Nvidia and Tesla Could Trade 24/7
The next step could bring tokenized stocks even closer to conventional exchanges.
NYSE owner Intercontinental Exchange and OKX are already developing a venue that could support more than 60 U.S. equities, including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple and Microsoft, under a regulatory pathway allowing blockchain-based securities trading.
Those 24/7 stocks could eventually allow investors to trade major U.S. companies against stablecoins outside normal Wall Street hours.
