XRP ETFs Cross 1 Billion XRP, BTC and ETH Funds Still Dominate Crypto

U.S. XRP exchange-traded funds now collectively hold more than 1 billion XRP, marking another milestone for institutional exposure to the token even as Bitcoin and Ethereum remain overwhelmingly larger ETF markets.

As of Sept. 29, U.S. XRP funds held approximately 1.13 billion XRP worth $1.68 billion, according to ETF holdings data from Maketo. That is up from about $1.44 billion in assets a month earlier, representing roughly 16.6% growth in dollar value over the period.

The milestone shows how quickly XRP has established itself as a meaningful ETF category since U.S. spot products began launching. But measured against Bitcoin and Ethereum, the gap remains enormous.

Bitcoin ETFs Remain in a Different League

U.S. Bitcoin ETFs currently hold around 1.29 million BTC worth roughly $108 billion, according to Bitbo’s ETF tracker. That represents more than 6% of Bitcoin’s maximum 21 million supply.

BlackRock’s IBIT alone accounts for more than 800,000 BTC, giving a single Bitcoin ETF vastly more assets than the entire XRP ETF market.

Ethereum funds also remain considerably larger. Depending on tracker methodology, U.S. spot Ethereum products hold several million ETH and tens of billions of dollars in assets.

The comparison matters because XRP has occasionally beaten both Bitcoin and Ethereum in daily ETF flows. How XRP ETFs attracted inflows while Bitcoin and Ethereum funds posted withdrawals?

That divergence shows momentum, but not yet scale.

XRP ETF holdings have crossed 1 billion tokens, while Bitcoin remains by far the largest U.S. crypto ETF market.

XRP’s Growth Is Still Significant

The smaller absolute size should not obscure how quickly XRP funds have expanded.

Coinpaper previously reported that the seven U.S. spot XRP ETFs were already holding around 1.1 billion XRP despite sharp weakness in the token’s price.

More recently, Bitwise’s XRP ETF alone reported more than $600 million in assets, showing that institutional exposure is becoming concentrated in several established products. The structure is shown behind the fund, including Coinbase Custody and BNY Mellon.
