Woori, Kakao Bank Join Ripple Event as Korea Eyes Tokenized Finance

The official XRP Seoul 2026 speaker list confirms representatives from Woori Bank, Kakao Bank, Kyobo Securities and Kbank will join Ripple President Monica Long, RippleX SVP Markus Infanger and other Ripple executives at the Oct. 3 conference at Grand Hyatt Seoul.

The event’s program goes well beyond general crypto discussion. Sessions include institutional adoption on XRPL, tokenized assets, institutional DeFi, RLUSD cross-border payments and institutional XRP management.

Korean Banks Are Moving Beyond Crypto Experiments

Woori Bank will be represented by senior manager Seunghoon Han, while Kakao Bank is sending manager Leo Lee. Kyobo Securities Executive Director Heejin Shin and Kbank digital-asset TF lead Jaehyuk Choi are also listed among the speakers.

That lineup matters because Ripple has already been building a much larger institutional footprint in Korea.

Kbank has been working with Ripple on blockchain-based overseas payments, including testing digital-asset infrastructure connected to international transfers.

Meanwhile, South Korea has also been exploring tokenized government bond settlement using Ripple infrastructure, pushing Ripple’s role beyond payments and into capital-market infrastructure.

Tokenization and DeFi Are Taking Center Stage

The official agenda is particularly notable for how institutional it has become.

A 30-minute panel will examine how traditional finance is adopting asset tokenization, followed by another session on the future of tokenized assets and a dedicated discussion on institutional DeFi built on XRPL.

Another session focuses specifically on RLUSD and cross-border payments, while later panels cover institutional XRP management and the future of XRP and the XRP Ledger.

Ripple has also been expanding its broader Asian tokenization stack through integrations such as Ripple Custody and SettleMint, giving regulated institutions infrastructure for issuing, custodying and managing tokenized assets.
