XRP has just produced one of the most extreme momentum readings in its trading history, while still holding above a long-term technical structure that has survived multiple crypto cycles.
Analyst Cryptollica says XRP’s two-week Relative Strength Index (RSI) has dropped to its lowest level in 13 years, below the readings seen during the 2018 bear market, the March 2020 COVID crash and the 2022 crypto downturn.
XRP currently trades around $1.30 after a sharp correction earlier this week. The unusual combination of historically weak momentum and long-term support has now raised a key question: is XRP approaching exhaustion among sellers, or preparing for another breakdown?
XRP RSI Hits a 13-Year Extreme
Cryptollica’s two-week chart places XRP’s RSI near 33.5, the lowest reading across the token’s 13-year history shown in the analysis.
What makes the signal more interesting is XRP’s price structure.
Despite the selloff, XRP remains near the lower boundary of a long-term rising channel that has supported the asset through several market cycles. Price recently dropped from roughly $1.49 to an intraday low near $1.27 before recovering toward $1.30.
An extreme RSI does not guarantee a bottom. Momentum can remain depressed while prices continue falling, making confirmation from the price chart critical.
Can XRP Hold $1.29?
The immediate battle is around $1.29-$1.30.
Another technical analysis identifies the 20-week EMA near $1.29 as an important level. A sustained weekly break below it could expose XRP to a deeper decline toward the psychological $1.00 area.
Other technical levels point to resistance around $1.34-$1.36, with $1.38-$1.40 representing a stronger recovery zone.
That leaves XRP at an unusually important technical point.
If $1.29 holds and momentum begins recovering, the record-low two-week RSI could eventually look like evidence of seller exhaustion. A decisive breakdown, however, would weaken the long-term support thesis and shift attention toward lower levels.
The setup is therefore less about declaring an XRP bottom and more about watching whether historically weak momentum can coexist with a still-intact multi-cycle structure.
