Dessert Sold at Walmart and Target Recalled Nationwide Over Possible Stones

A popular So Delicious frozen dessert sold at Walmart, Target and other US retailers has been recalled over possible small stones and hard objects.

Danone USA recalled a popular So Delicious Dairy Free frozen dessert sold nationwide after consumers reported finding potentially dangerous foreign material in the product.

The voluntary recall covers So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints with best-by dates on or before April 3, 2028. Affected containers carry SKU 136603 and UPC 744473476138, according to a Sept. 15 notice that was published by the US Food and Drug Administration.

The pints were distributed to retailers across the United States, including major chains like Walmart and Target. The problem involves possible “small stones and other hard objects” in the dessert’s cashew inclusions and was discovered after consumer complaints.

Consumers should not eat affected products and can contact So Delicious Consumer Care for a refund or replacement coupon. Danone said it is working with retailers to remove affected inventory, while other So Delicious flavors and products are not included. The company also says it identified and corrected the issue and that newly shipped product is unaffected.

Same Product Was Recalled in 2025

The latest recall is quite interesting because it is the second recall of the same flavor in less than a year over the same type of contamination.

Danone recalled Salted Caramel Cluster pints in December of 2025 because cashew inclusions could contain small stones or other hard objects. That recall covered products with best-by dates before Aug. 8, 2027.

Target and Walmart Stocks Move in Opposite Directions

The recall has so far produced no obvious reaction in the shares of major retailers selling the product. Target stock rose 0.18% on Wednesday, Sept. 16, to $154.68, after falling 2.71% during the previous session.

Walmart moved in the opposite direction by falling 0.55% to $107.50 Wednesday after declining 0.91% Tuesday. The S&P 500 also fell 0.45% Wednesday, which suggests that the Walmart decline came during a generally weaker market session.

There is currently no evidence that the recall was responsible for either retailer’s stock-price movement.
