Bitcoin Price Prediction: Is a Move Back Above $90,000 Coming Next?

Bitcoin trades near key resistance as investors watch whether improving momentum can push BTC back above $90,000 in the next major move.

Bitcoin Price Prediction: BTC Holds $64K as $60K and $50K Risks Build

Bitcoin traded just below $78,800 Tuesday, Sept. 8, as the cryptocurrency remained under $80,000 and investors weighed higher Treasury yields and growing expectations for another Federal Reserve rate increase. Two technical charts now point to a similar setup: Bitcoin may need to defend the $75,500-$76,000 area before a stronger recovery can challenge resistance near $82,000.

Two-Week Bitcoin Signal Puts $72,613 Trend Level in Focus

Bitcoin’s longer-term chart is showing an unconfirmed buy signal that resembles a setup seen before the cryptocurrency’s 2023 recovery, according to trader Jesse Olson. The signal is developing on the two-week timeframe, making the eventual candle close more important than short-term price swings.

Olson’s chart shows Bitcoin trading above a descending trendline that had guided the pullback from its previous highs. The cryptocurrency is also holding well above the rising longer-term moving average shown near $65,185, leaving the broader structure intact despite the decline from the 2025 peak.

The key feature is the indicator beneath the price chart. A potential buy signal is developing near an indicator reading of 47.40, after momentum recovered from a weaker zone closer to the 33.54 level. Olson noted that the previous two-week candle also showed a pending signal but failed to confirm it by the close.

That distinction matters. The bullish case strengthens only if the indicator completes the signal rather than reversing before the candle closes.

Olson sees the rising trend dots, currently around $72,613, as a possible retest area over the next three to four weeks before a larger advance. That is a scenario rather than a confirmed target, but it identifies the level bulls would want to hold if Bitcoin experiences a deeper correction.

A sustained break below that trend structure would weaken the comparison with 2023 and increase the risk of a broader retracement.

$75,500-$76,000 Support Could Set Up Another Test of $82,000

A shorter-term four-hour chart from CobraTrader identifies a higher support zone that could become important before Bitcoin reaches Olson’s longer-term trend level. The chart marks roughly $75,500 as the preferred area for evaluating bullish positions after a pullback.

The chart places a 0.31 retracement level at about $76,053, with another marked level near $75,595. Together, they form a relatively tight support band between roughly $75,500 and $76,000.

Bitcoin was near $79,259 when the chart was published, meaning a move into that zone would represent a controlled pullback rather than an immediate breakdown of the recent advance.

CobraTrader’s projected path shows Bitcoin consolidating around $78,000-$79,000 before falling toward $75,500, stabilizing and then recovering. The main upside barrier is approximately $82,240, a level that has already capped several recent attempts to move higher.

That makes $82,000 the clearest confirmation level for the bullish scenario. A decisive move above that resistance could reopen the path toward the low-$80,000s and beyond, while failure to hold $75,500 would shift attention toward Olson’s deeper $72,613 trend support.

For now, Bitcoin remains caught between clearly defined technical levels. Bulls need to defend the mid-$75,000 area and eventually reclaim $82,000, while a deeper decline toward $72,600 would test whether the longer-term bullish structure can survive another correction.
