Ripple Pays $5M a Year to Put XRP on Florida Field as Token Stays Down 48%

Ripple is spending millions to put XRP in front of college football fans, but the token’s price has not kept pace with the marketing push.

Florida Athletics announced a multi-year Ripple partnership on Sept. 4 that places XRP logos on both 25-yard lines at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The deal is reportedly worth about $5 million per year.

It follows Ripple’s five-year partnership with Kansas Athletics, where XRP branding appears across uniforms and other athletic properties.

Together, the deals mark one of the clearest attempts yet to turn a cryptocurrency into a mainstream sports brand.

XRP Visibility Is Rising Faster Than Price

The contrast is striking.

XRP was trading around $1.45in early September, roughly 48% below where it traded a year earlier.

That means Ripple is expanding XRP’s mainstream visibility while the asset itself remains well below 2025 levels.

Florida’s agreement covers field branding, digital properties, events and financial-technology education.

But the university is not required to hold XRP or use the XRP Ledger for payments.

Ripple Is Buying Mainstream Attention

The goal may be less about immediate token demand and more about familiarity.

College football gives XRP exposure to millions of people who may never attend a blockchain conference or regularly use crypto exchanges.

Florida supports 21 teams and more than 500 student-athletes, while Kansas carries XRP branding across its athletics program.

The recent Kansas partnership already showed how Ripple is taking XRP beyond crypto-native audiences.

At the same time, XRP has been recovering from its August low, with futures activity increasing sharply.

Price Still Depends on Bigger Catalysts

Sports exposure alone is unlikely to determine XRP’s next major move.

Traders are still watching regulation, institutional demand, ETF flows and broader crypto conditions.

Ripple’s stronger regulatory position may ultimately matter more for price than stadium advertising.

Still, the strategy is notable.

Kansas puts XRP on athletes.

Florida puts XRP directly on the field.
