Why Is XRP Rising? ETF Inflows Reach Record $1.55 Billion

Institutional money is returning to XRP just as the token breaks out of a months-long slump, putting a major resistance level back in focus.

Why Is XRP Rising? ETF Inflows Reach Record $1.55 Billion

Spot XRP exchange-traded funds just posted their strongest week in more than three months, pushing cumulative net inflows to a record $1.55 billion as XRP staged a sharp price recovery.

The funds attracted $39.78 million last week, their best result since mid-May. Daily demand accelerated into the end of the week, with $13.24 million arriving Thursday and another $18.38 million Friday, according to SoSoValue data. Friday marked the strongest single session since May 14.

XRP ETF demand returns after quiet August

The rebound follows a weak start to the month. Seven of the first 11 trading sessions reportedly recorded no XRP ETF inflows at all before investors returned on Aug. 18.

Bitwise remains the largest contributor, with cumulative inflows of about $542.7 million. Canary Capital follows with roughly $468.1 million, while Franklin Templeton has attracted about $434.2 million. Together, the three account for most of the capital held by US spot XRP ETFs.

Institutional interest was already building earlier this year. Grayscale research suggested XRP ETFs could eventually absorb 5%-6% of circulating supply if adoption follows a path similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum funds. That potential supply impact becomes more important as cumulative ETF holdings grow.

XRP jumps 70% but $1.70 remains resistance

ETF demand coincided with one of XRP’s strongest moves of the year. The token held support around $1.00 before climbing roughly 70% in less than 72 hours to $1.70, its highest level in seven months. It then pulled back toward $1.42 before recovering to around $1.50.

That is a major shift from earlier in August, when XRP price spent hours trapped between roughly $1.008 and $1.05.

The rally also arrived alongside a broader altcoin rebound. XRP gained nearly 40% during the market-wide surge as Bitcoin briefly crossed $79,000 and several large altcoins posted gains above 30%.

Longer-term institutional interest remains central to the XRP story. Ripple’s expanding payments business and its estimated $50 billion valuation have reinforced expectations that regulated XRP products could attract more traditional capital.

For now, $1.65-$1.70 remains the key technical barrier. A sustained break above that range would strengthen the breakout, while another rejection could keep XRP trading below its seven-month high.
