XRP Hits Lowest Close of 2026 as Critical $1 Support Faces Make-or-Break Test

XRP has posted its lowest daily close of 2026, sliding back into the same price zone that marked its June bottom and placing one of its most critical support levels back in focus.

According to market analyst ChartNerd, XRP has officially retested its June low after weeks of sustained selling pressure. The decline comes after eight to ten straight weeks of rejection at the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA), signaling that bears have consistently defended overhead resistance.

A recent failure to reclaim the 20-day EMA accelerated the selloff, sending XRP to $1.01 before a modest rebound to around $1.03, according to CoinCodex.

With XRP now hovering just above the psychologically important $1.00 level, traders are closely watching for signs that the recent selloff may be nearing exhaustion.

While the short-term trend remains bearish, many analysts view this area as a decisive inflection point rather than confirmation of a deeper collapse. The June low previously attracted strong buying interest, making it a crucial zone for bulls to defend.

Can XRP Defend $1? Key Support Now Holds the Fate of the Next Rally

Holding the $1.00-$1.03 support range could allow XRP to establish a stronger base for recovery. The first technical hurdle would be reclaiming the 20-day EMA, followed by a sustained move above the 50-day EMA, both of which would signal fading bearish momentum. Conversely, a breakdown below support could trigger fresh selling pressure as stop-loss orders below $1.00 are activated.

Despite the recent weakness, several bullish analysts argue that the broader market structure remains intact. They point to strengthening bullish RSI divergence and historical Elliott Wave patterns, suggesting XRP could be approaching the conditions for a Wave 3 breakout.

If the top altcoin can reclaim the $1.30-$1.60 resistance zone, some analysts believe it could confirm the next major impulsive move, with long-term projections calling for gains of as much as 2,000%. While those targets remain highly speculative, they illustrate why XRP's current price structure is being watched so closely.

The technical weakness also stands in sharp contrast to XRP's strengthening fundamentals. Institutional demand continues to build, with JPMorgan reporting that XRP recorded the largest monthly ETF inflow spike as a percentage of assets under management since July 2025, outperforming Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Meanwhile, the XRP Ledger's tokenization ecosystem has grown to approximately $4.3 billion, highlighting accelerating enterprise adoption.

For now, however, the market is focused on a single question: Will XRP defend its June lows and spark a reversal, or will its weakest daily close of 2026 open the door to another leg lower?
