Investor interest increased after Nvidia revealed that it beneficially owns approximately 22.25 million Nebius Class A ordinary shares, which is a 9.3% passive stake in the cloud infrastructure provider. The disclosure was made through a Schedule 13G filing.
Nvidia’s position includes around 1.19 million shares held directly and approximately 21.07 million shares connected to pre-funded warrants. The investment incorporates the $2 billion commitment Nvidia announced in March, when its ownership position was estimated at approximately 8.3%. The warrant-backed shares are reportedly subject to restrictions until Sept. 11, 2026.
Analysts See Further Upside for NBIS Stock
The Nvidia disclosure adds even more momentum to the recent recovery in NBIS stock. The shares gained approximately 9% across Friday and Monday, although they are still well below the record high that was reached in June.
Freedom Capital also upgraded Nebius shares from “Hold” to “Buy” and increased its price target from $159 to $200. Based on Monday’s closing price, that target has a potential upside of 9+%.
Nebius Accelerates Its AI Cloud Expansion
Nebius recently secured $775 million in senior secured debt financing to support the expansion of its global AI cloud infrastructure. The facility is backed by deployed GPU equipment and contracted cash flows from an investment-grade customer. Nebius said the structure could provide a repeatable financing model for more than $40 billion in additional customer commitments.
Institutional interest in NBIS stock has also been growing. Situational Awareness, an AI-focused hedge fund led by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, disclosed a 5.6% stake in Nebius in May, making the company one of the fund’s largest investments.
