Bitget is expanding deeper into real-world asset (RWA) tokenization with the launch of Reality, a new platform designed to bring tokenized exposure to traditional financial markets into its crypto ecosystem.
The move marks a major step in the exchange’s broader strategy to bridge crypto and traditional finance, as demand for tokenized assets continues to grow globally.
Bitget is one of the largest crypto trading platforms worldwide and operates as a Universal Exchange (UEX), allowing users to trade crypto alongside tokenized stocks, commodities, forex, and other assets within a single account. The platform serves over 125 million users and focuses on unified, multi-asset trading infrastructure. You can access Bitget here.
Reality Introduces Tokenized Stocks Backed 1:1
At the core of the new platform are rTokens, on-chain representations of real-world assets such as U.S. stocks and ETFs. Each token is backed 1:1 by actual shares held with a regulated U.S. broker-dealer, with additional protections including SIPC coverage.
Bitget says the system includes third-party audits and a live proof-of-assets dashboard to ensure transparency and verify that tokenized assets are fully backed.
The platform also mirrors traditional market mechanics. Corporate actions like dividends and stock splits are reflected through a deterministic mapping system, ensuring token holders receive equivalent economic exposure to the underlying assets.
Bridging TradFi Liquidity With Crypto Infrastructure
Reality is designed to provide access to traditional markets without many of the usual barriers, such as limited trading hours, geographic restrictions, and fragmented brokerage systems.
By connecting directly to U.S. equity liquidity, Bitget aims to offer institutional-grade execution, including deeper liquidity and reduced slippage. Tokenized assets will also integrate directly into the exchange’s ecosystem, enabling use cases beyond simple trading.
These include using tokenized equities as collateral within unified accounts, deploying them in algorithmic strategies like grid trading or copy trading, and integrating them into staking and lending products.
Tokenization Vision Targets 10% of Global Assets
The launch aligns with Bitget CEO Gracy Chen’s broader “10% vision,” which suggests that by 2030, around 10% of global financial assets could be tokenized.
Currently, tokenized assets remain a small fraction of traditional markets. Tokenized equities account for roughly 0.1% of the $125 trillion global equity market, while other segments such as money market funds and private credit remain below 1%.
However, growing adoption of blockchain infrastructure, faster settlement systems, and rising institutional interest are pushing tokenization closer to mainstream financial markets.
Bitget’s Reality platform is positioned as part of that shift, aiming to make tokenized access to traditional assets more widely available within crypto-native environments.
Expanding Role in the RWA Market
The launch strengthens Bitget’s presence in the tokenized asset sector, where it has already introduced products linked to stocks, commodities, gold, and forex.
Reality will initially support selected U.S. equities and ETFs, with plans to expand coverage over time. Access to the platform will depend on regional regulations and eligibility requirements.
As competition in the RWA space intensifies, platforms are increasingly racing to combine traditional asset exposure with the speed and flexibility of blockchain-based systems, an area where Bitget is positioning itself aggressively.
