An Argentine blockchain developer known by the pseudonym fede_intern has reported being detained by Turkish authorities on charges of facilitating the "misuse of Ethereum," according to posts on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The developer stated that the Turkish Interior Ministry accused him of involvement in illegal operations on the Ethereum network. He was placed in a detention cell in Izmir. Fede_intern insists this is a misunderstanding, emphasizing that he is “just building infrastructure” and willing to cooperate fully with law enforcement.
In subsequent messages, he shared that he is receiving support from his legal team and hopes to leave Turkey for Europe soon. However, he said he would disclose further details only after consulting with his lawyers.
Some users on X expressed skepticism about the claims, with commentator 0xCenk noting that such accusations "don't exist in the legal field."
In response, the developer affirmed his intention to be transparent once it is safe: “I'm waiting to share details until I leave the country and my lawyer gives me the green light. I don't know what the heck I win by inventing that this happened to me.”
According to his public profiles, fede_intern is affiliated with the investment company Lambda Class and blockchain developer Aligned. Media requests for comment sent to Turkish authorities, Lambda Class, and the Ethereum Foundation had not received responses at the time of writing.
